Yes, it's finished! From the moment I first saw the jacket 'Autumn Flower' in Ottobre 4/2013, I knew that was a project for me - or for L rather! I even bought the same fabric as they used in the magazine. I bought the fabric at Ottobre's Etsy shop and that worked really well for me. Next time I should take shrink into account though. I bought 1 meter but when I tried to put all my pattern pieces on it, it turned out I only had 93 cm left but I somehow managed.
It was nevertheless great fabric to work with. Unfortunately my sewing machine seemed to disagree, it's at the sewing machine repair shop now. Thankfully I never got rid of my old Janome so I finished the jacket on my old machine.
When I reached the description for the buttonholes I knew my old machine would not be able to do this so I opted for bound buttonholes. I'd never made these before so it was an interesting excercise. I used a tutorial I found on Craftsy. I believe there are also other techniques to make these so I'll try another method next time.
Unfortunately my model didn't want the jacket on but I understand because it's 36 degrees here.
